Golden Key Graduate Scholar Award

Description: This is Golden Key’s premier scholarship award. This scholarship supports members’ post-baccalaureate study at accredited universities anywhere in the world.
Scholarships Available: At least 12 – $10,000 (USD) scholarships. Eligibility: The applicant must be currently working on an undergraduate degree OR the applicant’s first undergraduate degree must have been received within five years of the application deadline. The applicant must be enrolled, as a full-time student, in a post-baccalaureate program of study at an accredited institution during the academic year immediately following the granting of the award. Criteria: Academic achievement, Golden Key involvement, and extracurricular activities. PLEASE NOTE: Scholarship notification to winners will occur May 2010. Application requirements: 1. Follow the instructions to Register Your Scholarship Application. During this process you will be prompted for an ACCESS KEY. The ACCESS KEY is GKIHS. 2. Print out the cover page from the online registration and use it as the cover page for your entire application. 3. Attach the following required documentation in the order listed below: A personal résumé that includes the following information:
One standard size page of paper* that specifically answers the following questions regarding your graduate or professional degree program:
One essay of no more than 1,000 words that states why you are applying, why you are pursuing post-baccalaureate or professional studies, how the Society’s commitment to academic excellence will be furthered by your studies, and your commitment to campus and community service. A current and comprehensive official academic transcript(s) from all collegiate level institutions attended. This does not have to be sealed so that you may make an additional copy to complete your application packet. One letter of recommendation from each of the following:
Either a paper of reasonable length (no more than 10 pages) you have prepared or some other piece of work related to the field of study such as film, sculpture, musical score, painting, slides, photographs or a CD of photographs (preferred). In the case of art pieces, please send photos of the artwork (submissions are not able to be returned). OPTIONAL: A paper you have exclusively authored is preferred; however, if submitting a co-authored document, your areas of contribution should be clearly identified. It is acceptable for you to attach to your paper/work a letter or written comments from the grader of the paper or a professor/instructor who is qualified to comment, assess or critique your paper/work. All pieces must cover the same subject matter. |
4. By the postmark deadline date, send the required documents, including cover page or your application will NOT be processed, by fax to 615-627-9685.
